Mar Vista Cottages

at Anchor Bay

Inside and Outside

Outside

Mar Vista's twelve cottages sit around the perimeter of nine gently sloping acres just across the street from the Ocean. They are embraced by forest and look out on a meadow, ponds, an organic garden cultivated for the guests, a Japanese style soaking tub under a gazebo, a picnic area with old stone barbeques, picnic tables and a firepit.

The cottages are spaced comfortably apart for privacy.

The secret beach is behind a gate, across a short foot path, and down a staircase that zigzags along the cliffs. The beach is protected from the wind, very private, and quite extraordinarily beautiful.

Mar Vista's look is natural and uncultivated, with a rusty sign, minimal lighting, wildflowers and native plants, and the most robins you'll ever see in one place. Deer and rabbits and fox visit in the dark of night.

We have a porch lights out request at bedtime because the Mar Vista's night sky is absolutely magical.

Could this be the spot you've been searching for?
